Text-heavy advertisement, with a bold and large header that takes up 2/3 of the page. A bald eagle stands on a pillowcase, similar to the sort that would hold wedding rings at a procession, and has its wings flared out. The eagle is wearing an American flag patterned high hat.
[additional notes]
The fusion of Chinese-American food and imagery was especially striking to me. It’s interesting to explore the increased American desire for foods that were “exotic” or new with the advent of industrialization. Also, with the introduction of these new cuisines, centralizing American identity and creating palatable imagery was crucial. Finally, it’s interesting to see how many advertisements within Quick Frozen Foods are marketed directly to food distributors, rather than to any food production companies.
