This ad plays on gender; not only is the figure in the image likely a woman, but the text also supports this notion. Words like “[s]he knows it’s Amerchol,” “[s]he can sense it,” and “[f]or her” suggest that consumers (presumably women) will be able to tell the level of quality in manufactured products, making it all the more important that the products include Amerchol lanolin. In a way, this ad suggests to manufacturers that in order to please their customers and generate profit, Amerchol’s expertise with lanolins should be relied on.
