[additional notes]
I was really interested in this ad because of the images play on ‘selling’ to the industry
the smll market man is a joke towards how the industry chooses what products they want to buy
I also really like the play on words of the ‘bandwagon’ as it demonstrates that some companies tend to purchase things in order to follow the ‘trends’ or what others are buying in to- which is something we still do in modern society with food
consumers tend to buy based on the trends exhibited in modern society therefore, society and the foods we consume are inextricably intertwined
this image reminds me of a candyman or like an ice cream truck where they lay out all their best flavors on the table for one to eat, but instead the man is laying out and showing off all the ways this brand has helped multile frozen food companies
the options are endless and it makes frozen food processing look like a commodity: food as a way of purchasing and for more economical reasons rather than for nutritional reasons
the wagon and the collage images are extremely funny and in a comical sense encourage the consumer beahvior of these industries
repetition of the word sales/selling
all money-based motives
products are commodities not essential foods
the play on the word leader is quite interesting, it states that the company should ‘follow’ the leaders which implies an inferior decision but then towards the end of the ad it states you’ll be a ‘leader’ if you call, you cannot be both a leader and follower but its playing on the idea of inferiority and superiority in deciding to work with them
‘good company’ meaning that if you decide to choose the Pollock Man for assistance you will be alongside all these brands who have proven to be outstanding in their sales
Themes: consumer attention, commodification of food, economical standards, trend-based, packaging, eye-grabbing products, visually appeasing
