GKB: Ad signifies a merger —
“In 1990, Bayer merged its acidulants business, operating through the Bayer subsidiary, Miles Laboratories, into
Haarmann & Reimer. This brought the citric acid facilities in Elkhart, IN and Dayton, OH along with the malic and fumaric acids facilities in Duluth, MN into H&R Corp. In addition, the company's citric acid plants in Mexico, Columbia and Brazil became part of the H&R Group. In 1991, H&R acquired Sturge's United Kingdom citric acid facility.”
