Transcription: A superior humectant - derived from corn. Lonza Sorbitol U.S.P. solution is a natural humectant. Its qualities greatly extend the shelf life of such food products as candy, chewing gum, confections, toppings and fillings. As a moisture stabilizer, softener, and plasticizer, Lonza Sorbitol gives up water more slowly at low humidities than glycerine or other polyhydric alcohols. It also picks up moisture at a slower rate in high humidities.
