Compatible WAX
The words “Compatible Wax” take up most of the page. “Compatible” is in black, while “Wax” and the rest of the background is in gradients of beeswas color. On the bottom of the ad next to the company name, a honeycomb structure is depicted.
Products such as quality cosmetic emollients and purest pharmaceutical ointments demand beeswax from Koster Keunen. Beesmax has a natural anti-contaminant property which requires no anti-microbial agent. The complex chemical structure of beeswax makes it as impossible to duplicate as Koster Keunen’s 132 years of experience.

Safety, authenticity, and expertise are values promoted in this ad. Beeswax is described to “require no anti-microbial agents because it naturally has an “anti-contaminant property.” This would be appealing to manufacturers because they wouldn’t have to go out of their way to include anti-microbial agents in products. Authenticity and expertise are linked together; the ad describes that Koster Keunen’s 132 years of experience is as hard to replicate as beeswax’s chemical structure.
What’s interesting in this ad is that aside from a beeswax depiction near the company name, this ad has no other images. Perhaps this simplicity is meant to reinforce how Koster Keunen’s beesmax can give cosmetic emollients and pharmaceutical ointments both quality and pureness with minimal effort involved.
