[additional notes] This ad stood out to me because it was the second sweetener ad that I saw in the August issue of Food Technology in 1994. This makes me wonder if during this time there was a trend of consumers wanting more artificial sweeteners like NutraSweet. Does this show a broader trend that is occuring? The sentence “NutraSweet enjoys a tremendously high brand awareness level of 98%” confused me since I haven’t seen it in an ad before. After looking it up I found that it means how much consumers recognize the brand when they hear it which I think is ironic because I did not recognize NutraSweet when I first saw the ad.
