A Tail of Two Lobsters

# A Tail of Two Lobsters
Once upon a time, the lobster tails of two countries were clawing for attention. One of them, from the tail end of a dark continet, was being loud and lobsterish. Wasn’t there a higher price on her tail? Wasn’t she advertised in costly full-color? That “other” crustacean had some crust! The “other” lobster tail was boiling, too. Although she came from tropical waters and crawled with a carioca beat, she was just as good as her richer rival. Deep down, she knew she was sweeter. And wasn’t she more attractive, taste-wise? To keep from cracking, she called in an independent reserach organization for a taste test. The competitors were buttered, flavored and baked at 500F for eight tail-wracking minutes - and served to sixty lobster lovers. The results: 60% could not tell the difference between the two lobster tails. 15% liked the dark-continent lobster tail. 25% THOUGHT THE BRAZILIAN LOBSTER TAIL WAS SWEETER AND FLESHIER! Moral of the tail: To please patrons and serve the best, buy sweeter, meatier, eatier Brazilian Rock Lobster Tails!

[alt-text]
Text heavy advertisement with a red, white, and black colour scheme. There are various drawings of lobster tails with women heads and hands, representing parts of the story told in the text.
[additional notes]
This advertisement stuck out to me due to the humanoid imagery and the storytelling format. The storytelling and casual nature of reporting experimental comparison results, makes me wonder why the company chose this advertisement, who its directed towards, and how effective it is at “beating its competitor.”
