##How to catch cold
and keep it with Dyfoam polystrene insulation
Behind these walls is one of the biggest causes of the uncommon cold. Dyfoam Polystyrene insulation. Mr. Malcom Alterman (looking at the wall) of Alterman Foods, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia got his cold from Dyfoam, and is very happy.
When Mr. Alterman decided to have a new 30,000 square foot freezer built, he picked North Brother Company, a division of National Service Industies, Inc., to do the job. North Brothers then picked Zonolite Dyfoam to do the insulating.
Why? “Because,” says Mr. Norm Harrison of North, “Dyfoam is one of the most economical, efficient insulation systems on the market today. It’s most effective from a thermal standpoint, and highly moisture-resistant. With the proper vapor barrier system, a Dyfoam-protected installation should prove very efficient for the life of the freezer building.
Why should you look into Dyfoam? Take it from Mr. Alterman
-”Nothing better than this Dyfoam has come along.” That ought to be reason enough.

Themes: trust, insulation, preservation, coldness, effective, economical
The ad does a play on the terminology of a ‘common cold’ which I thought was quite interesting, as many people keep away from such, this ad emphasizes how one wants to keep it in order to preserve food
The word ‘keep’ emphasizes the maintenance of food and the need to keep it contained in its current conditions: to not rot/spoil
The words ‘uncommon’ cold make demonstrate that their is a unique aspect to this ‘coldness’ that cannot be gained or ‘spread’ like a cold from anywhere else
Play on words: Mr. Alterman is instead happy with receiving a ‘cold’ and this demonstrates that there are good qualities within this company’s insulation
North Brothers is the company that choose the type of insulation: demonstrating that the company can make effective choices for one’s products as Mr. Alterman trusted them with his ‘30,000 square foot freezer’
solves the problem of many other companies who may need a reliable industry to make fast decisions for their freezers
Zonolite Dyfoam: Zonolite is an insulation brand, dyfoam is a polystyrene foam/insulating board
Polystyrene: synthetic resin which is a polymer os styrene used as lightweight rigid foams/films
Styrene: unstaurated liquid hydrocarbon obtains as a petroleum byproduct used to make plastic and resins
works by trapping air in tiny pockets creating barrier to slow temperature trasnfers, reducing utility costs, prevent moisture build up and mildew
serves as the most optimal choice as it has all these properties that are cheap as one does not have to buy certain products to maintain the food- solution where 1 foam does all the magic
it allows for the ‘shelf-life’ theme to continue as it is highly efficient in maintaining the coldness
reasoning: a trustable source from a man who has a trustable comapny uses it for his own refrigeration
There is a standard of coolness that products are beginning to have, and companies want to sell products that can do multiple preservation techniques at once
