EVERY ONE OF OUR FATTY CHEMICALS MUST PASS 7 MAJOR CHECKPOINTS BEFORE IT'S SHIPPED TO YOU.

On the left hand side are three small soldier figurines wearing a red army coat and black pants, holding a rifle, with a black hat, they are standing outside of a small house. The small house is striped with white and red and has a brown wooden roof. There is an oval shaped hole for each house that is meant to mimic a door. The same figurines are on the right hand side.

#EVERY ONE OF OUR FATTY CHEMICAL MUST PASS 7 MAJOR CHECKPOINTS BEFORE IT’S SHIPPED TO YOU.
You’ve told us that quality of product is the single most important thing you expect from your suppliers. At P&G we have a stringent quality control program, with seven major quality checkpoints-running all the way from raw materials to shipping container. 1. We write tough specifications for our raw materials. Very tough. 2. Our raw materials are carefully sampled and analyzed. 3. Our formula controls are very strict. And they’re in writing. 4. So are our process controls. 5. As each product is made, we monitor conditions at every key step. 6. Every finished P&G product is analyzed, some more than once. 7. The containers used to ship your order must meet our rigid standards.
Our quality control program doesn’t end when your order is shipped either.
For example, the analysis of each fatty acid shipment is fed into our computer system, so we can monitor our product quality consistently and precisely.
P&G quality controls may make our life a little tougher, but they should make yours a lot easier. After all, the better your supplier’s quality, the fewer your own production problems.

[additional notes]
I really enjoyed seeing this advertisement in Chemical Week as it plays on the idea of soldier qualities of durability and strength to ensure a sturdy product
The numbers coinciding with each small figurine is brilliant in its marketing as the number of figurines is 7 and so is the checkpoints
This ad understands the reality of research within the food industry and how much work is put in to ensuring that the chemicals they are offering are safe to use
demonstrates the meticulous process of ensuring that what they are selling can coincide with the standards of food
the material is looked after throughout each stop point before being given to the customer
evidence of continuous monitoring: allows the company to know that they have done every step
not only is the extension of monitoring within the process itself, but even after it leaves the facility: further solidifying their argument of ‘quality control’
this advertisment definitelt coincides with the Sanders reading in demonstrating how chemical companies are willing to do the work for the food companies in order to ensure that their chemical gets purchased/putting worries aside for the food industry
the complexity with such is that the chemists may have particular standards that are different from the standards of food, buying a product that seems controlled doesn’t mean that it actually is in most cases
win/lose situation
