SPECIAL PRODUCTS
Efficiency is primarily promoted in this ad, as Beatrice Foods Co claims that its powdered emulsifiers can simplify “formulation, production and packaging.”
Imagination and creativity are mentioned in the ad, just like the other Beatrice Foods Co. ad with the boy sailor. What I find interesting across both ads is that the boy sailor has a blue background and this one has a pink background. The girl in this ad has a piping bag in her hand while the boy sailor had a flag in his hand. While subtle, these may reflect the gender stereotypes and attitudes of the time. Nonetheless, a child was portrayed in both ads, likely because children are often associated with curiosity and creativity.
